A sneaky snake slithered inside a transformer and caused a power outage in a Kentucky neighborhood on Thursday, leaving many residents without electricity for roughly 24 hours.

Crews with the Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative discovered the snake on Thursday morning, Wave 3 News reported. The Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative shared a picture of the reptile in a Facebook post, and the serpent looks very cozy inside the wired space.

“Rough way to start the day,” the Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative wrote on Facebook. “Snake causes power outage in Brandenburg area.”

Facebook users made cheeky comments about the snake incident.

“Now he’s more of an electric eel lol,” one user wrote.

Another replied, “Looks like the snake was after what might have been in a bird’s nest. Yikes. That’s a big snake.”

It’s unclear what kind of snake was trapped inside the transformer or how it ended up there, however, it was safely removed from the scene. The Meade County Rural Electric Cooperative said the power was back up for residents on Friday.
